PetfolkFlex Terms and Conditions

Welcome to PetfolkFlex, a platform created by Petfolk Veterinary Care, PLLC, hereinafter (PetfolkFlex) that facilitates flexible shift opportunities for approved users at participating Pet Care Centers. Each person and/or entity wishing to register as a user with PetfolkFlex must carefully read the terms and conditions set forth below. By registering and using the PetfolkFlex platform, each and every user agrees to abide by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.


1. User Registration and Approval

1.1. To use the PetfolkFlex platform, individuals must:

  • Complete the online registration process, providing accurate and up-to-date information.

  • Agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1.2. Registration does not guarantee approval. All registrations are subject to review and approval by PetfolkFlex administrators and/or Pet Care Center leadership.

1.3. Users will be notified of their approval or rejection status via the email address provided during registration within 3 business days of request after onboarding call.

1.4. Approved users shall not disclose their account credentials, are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and must promptly notify PetfolkFlex of any unauthorized use.


2. Shift Requests and Approval

2.1. Approved users may request available shifts through the PetfolkFlex platform. However, every request is not guaranteed.

2.2. All shift requests are subject to review and approval by the leadership of the respective Pet Care Center. This process may take up to 3 business days from request

2.3. Approval of a shift request will be communicated to the user via the platform or email with the most up to date contact info in the users profile.

2.4. Users must ensure they meet all requirements specified for each shift, including holding a state veterinary license in good standing, an active Drug Enforcement Administration license (DEA license), active Professional Liability Insurance (PLIT) coverage, and in South Carolina, an active Controlled Substance license. An up to date W9 is also required for billing purposes.


3. Cancellation Policy

3.1. Users may submit written cancellations for their approved shifts without penalty 30 days prior to the scheduled shift date.

3.2. Repeated cancellations of shifts within 30 days of the date may result in:

  • 45 day period limiting the number of shifts able to be approved;

  • Temporary suspension from picking up shifts; and/or

  • Account removal and termination from the platform access

3.3. PetfolkFlex and Pet Care Center leadership reserve the right to cancel shifts due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, users will be notified as soon as practicable. If a shift is canceled with 30 days or less notice, PetfolkFlex may compensate up to 100% of the invoice amount.


4. User Conduct

4.1. Each and every user must conduct themselves professionally and adhere to the policies and procedures of the respective Pet Care Center while on-site.

4.2. Any violations of on-site Pet Care Center policies and procedures, state and local regulations, or the Terms and Conditions set forth herein:

  • Immediate termination of access to the PetfolkFlex platform;

  • Cancellation for future confirmed shifts without the possibility to recoup the anticipated invoice;

  • Reporting to relevant authorities, if applicable.

4.3. Each and every user agrees to respect the privacy and confidentiality of all clients, staff, and animals associated with each Pet Care Center.

  • Any solicitation of clients, staff and/or animals associated with any Pet Care Center will be subject to termination from the Platform and reporting to relevant authorities if applicable.


5. Compliance with Law(s)

(Contains an enforceable, binding mediation and arbitration agreement)

5.1. Users are required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances governing animal care, employment practices, and workplace conduct for the state which the shifts are being completed.

  • In the event a dispute shall arise between Petfolk and a user, it is hereby agreed that the dispute shall be mediated and arbitrated in the county of Mecklenburg, North Carolina. The mediation and arbitration decision shall be final and binding and judgement may be enforced therein. In the event a party fails to proceed with mediation and arbitration, unsuccessfully challenges mediation and arbitrations award or fails to comply with mediation and arbitrations reward, the other party is entitled to the cost of the suit, including reasonable attorneys fees.

5.2. PetfolkFlex reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in local laws or regulations.


6. Limitation of Liability

6.1. PetfolkFlex is a platform for facilitating shift opportunities and does not guarantee approval, availability of shifts, or continued approval of user accounts.

6.2. PetfolkFlex is not liable for any issues arising from a user's conduct, cancellation of shifts, or failure to adhere to these Terms and Conditions.

6.3. Users agree to indemnify and hold PetfolkFlex Harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from their use of the platform and/or participation in shifts at Pet Care Centers.


7. Modification of Terms

7.1. PetfolkFlex reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or platform notification with most update contact info on profile.

7.2. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any modified terms.


8. Termination of Access

8.1. PetfolkFlex reserves the right to terminate any users access to the platform at any time for any violation of these Terms and Conditions or for any other reason deemed appropriate or necessary by PetfolkFlex administrators.

8.2. Users may request account deactivation by contacting Flex@petfolk.com
